New online Clothing Store

Here is a new online clothing store in the UK...I really wish it was not in the UK so I could order this dress and receive it in time for the Christmas holidays! http://www.asos.com/Woman/ This dress would be so cute with some black or grey patterned tights, some leather boots and this rockin' Hattitude "Twinkle Star" Necklace.

I need an o la la la la

If you want a little music to listen to, I stumbled across this artist and am absolutely in love with them. Have not figured out how to buy their CD yet, so I just keep listening to them on myspace over and over in my bead studio as I create new jewels for Christmas! here is my light box.

as promised over a month ago...here is this wonky contraption I rigged up of my light box to take photos of my new jewellery. You can't tell but there is rope tied to the ceiling tied to the table! haha it works great though, produces these results! I am quite pleased, although I have to find a new light source, as I can't have that one hanging from a rope at my apartment kitchen table forever! So next mission, searching out a light!

countdown is on...20 days till christmas!

I'm sorry, it's been forever, since I've updated this blog!

World wednesday is behind. I will post some of the photos i have recieved and will draw names out of a hattitude bag in two weeks for a free pair of christmas earrings! Thanks for everyone for sending in their photos! In the new year, send them in to win a free bracelet! Hattitude continues to be seen all over the world!

I just got back from a trip to barbados with my family. It was so glorious, but I am sad to be back in the cold. I woke up to frost this morning. The first I have actually seen this year with my own eyes, usually by the time I wake up, it's all melted, but not this morning!

I was fretting about my website while I was away on vacation. She needs to be updated asap for Christmas. Monday I start shooting some of my christmas jewels so Tuesday or Wednesday new jewellery should be up on the website for Christmas presents. I cannot believe christmas is exactly 20 days away!

My birthday is in 18 days! Christmas baby, and I share it with my brother as well! We're not twins, two years apart, yet same birthday. People always ask me if thats weird, but I don't know any different so it's hard to know!

Anyways check back tomorrow, for some photos of Hattitude jewellery around the world and a new online store that I found that I adore. Will blog again soon.

light box.

well I've set up my light box to take photos of my jewellery in. i will post a picture of the contraption and all the lights we have strung up around it to create the master piece. It is quite funny.
I hope to be getting a new camera when I go to NYC this weekend.

I am also in the market for a sewing mannequin to dress up outfits and jewellery on....if anyone knows of a cheap place to get a used one please advise. My aunt gave me a mannequin...but it was actually a real 1930's or 40's creepy 6 foot tall mannequin she called Ginger...She scared me and my dog every time we walked into the room. My dog would bark and bark at her. so Ginger had to find a new home at my brother's girlfriends house, who fell in love with Ginger upon first glance...haha...also Ginger had missing fingers...too weird for me. I would just like one of those sewing mannequins, nothing fancy, but they are quite expensive.
I'm off to NYC on thursday, quite excited! road tripping it down with four friends to visit a girlfriend and my boyfriend's sister who live down there. Hope to see the show stomp and a concert and maybe some dancing?
Check out my website tomorrow, as new jewellery being taken in the light box will be posted!

World Wednesday on a Friday

World wednesday is a little late this week.
This week features Hattitude in LA (the hills in the background) This is a cute Hattitude necklace. It features a vintage brooch, which is three butterflies. This is a great necklace because it's so neutral and can be worn all the time.
Don't forget to send in your Hattitude photos, the draw for the free earrings is coming up, first week in December!

Pleated high waisted pants

My next mission is to find some pleated high waisted menswear inspired pants. Some people are a bit iffy on them, but I have fallen in love with them. I'm not sure whether I will be able to wear them or not a) I'm not tall, I'm only 5'4 and b) I do not have an hour glass figure...so we'll see. I'll have to go scouring the thrift stores this weekend. Actually I doubt I'll have time to this weekend. I have two shows I'm selling Hattitude at coming up. On saturday I am at the macville School christmas craft show, I've heard it's really good. They have been advertising for it like crazy, plus it's in my home town. Then on Sunday I'm selling Hattitude in Toronto for a "Passion for Fashion" fundraiser for cancer and sick kids hospital.

These are the pants I'll be looking for, posted from a really cute blog that you should check out Sally Jane Vintage by clicking here. This photo is from her blog. Check out the other photos from this sequence by clicking here.

Pumpkin Carving and Christmas Shows

I went shopping for my first christmas present for a girlfriend last monday...and tonight I carved pumpkins with another girlfriend...Christmas in Halloween month??
Over the weekend it sure was cold enough to be Christmas time, I was in London and it snowed one morning! brr, chilly! I made sure to bundle up in my wool coat, mitts and hat. Today was a lot nicer though, a beautiful fall day. I took a stroll around my town while heading to the bank.

Speaking of Christmas in October, Hattitude will be for sale at the Macville school Christmas Fair this Saturday October 24th, 2009.

Hattitude will also be for sale at a "Passion for Fashion" cancer and sick kids hospital fundraiser in Toronto Safari Bar and Grill on Sunday October 25th, 2009.

Get unique and one-of-a-kind Christmas presents for your family and friends, or just treat yourself, hey, it's cold out, we deserve new accessories!

Hattitude one-of-a-kind Bracelets and unique earrings make great stocking stuffers, or an "isn't she lovely" necklace.

Hattitude Wedding Shoot

Hattitude has designed and created for a couple wedding custom work. I did a Hattitude photo wedding Shoot yesterday so i can start designing a brochure to hand out to wedding and bridal stores to start getting some custom work for weddings which is what i would love to start doing more of.

I love custom work, because I love taking someone's outfit and designing the perfect necklace with the neck line, colours and fabric of the dress. I also love when they are able to give me their grandmothers brooch they they want to wear on their wedding day, and make it into a fashionable custom necklace.

It's also nice when the bride gives her bridesmaid some Hattitude custom jewellery for the wedding to wear with their dresses, yet it's a great gift because they can keep wearing the jewellery with all other dresses and of course they're one-of-a-kind which is always a nice touch to give a bridesmaid!

I also have done mother of the bride custom necklace for their outfit as well as even custom bracelets and necklace's for the grandmother of the bride!
The wedding shoot was a lot of fun! Thanks to my amazing photographer and of course my models! You ladies are beautiful.

Can't Take them off...

I have finally found some high waisted jeans, man they are hard to come by unless you want the cheap mondays! i even went to H and M which usually has everything under the sun, but all their pants were low rise.

Guess where I found some! WINNERS. I was just looking for jeans, and I guess I was in the 'older' woman's section and I stumbled across a pair of skinnies, so I grabbed them and tried them on, low and behold they were high waisted....and girls let me tell you I am never ever ever taking them off. What have we been doing to ourselves all these years with low rise, butt showing, hip hiking and pulling up our pants all the time...high waisted is the way to go, thank gosh they came back into fashion, because they are the most comfortable things ever. I am embracing this fade because it's just so comfy. They don't cut you, like the low rise ones do, they don't give you a muffin top, and they look super cute with all the fall frilly tops out this season tucked into them! Embrace it ladies, they are woooonderful!

I purchased some cheap mondays from karmaloop last night since I went to the mall, and no stores have any jeans that suit me! plus at aritzia where they sell cheap mondays, they're 75, online I got them for 50!

Oh also big news, I am in the process of creating an ETSY account. It is coming along. I am purchasing a digital camera today. I know can you believe I don't own one already. I've been using my boyfriends D80 for the last year, but I think it's time I purchased my own. Exciting!

Halloween

October may be one of my favourite months, simply for the fact that halloween comes at the end! I'm not a fan of cold weather though that October has brought this year. If I had a choice, I'd be living in Barbados from October 1st until June 1st each year. I don't fair cold weather well.

Halloween is marvelous though. This year I want to go as Eve and my boyfriend as Wall-e. If you have not seen that movie. It's really cute and definitely worth checking it out.

The best though is going to the pumpkin patch, or in our case, the neighbours farm where they grow fields of pumpkins, picking the best ones, coming home and scooping out the guts of it. I love squishing the pumpkin guts in between my fingers (is that weird?). Carving pumpkins is my favourite thing to do.

Also my Trunk Show at Body Graphics was a huge success! Thank you Body Graphics for having me for the weekend and thanks to everyone for coming! The jewellery looked so great with the clothing at Body Graphics!

Perhaps I should go to the local thrift store and pick up some overalls and make a family of pumpkin heads this year!

World Wednesday this week features Hattitude in Toronto!
This is such a cute necklace. It has vintage charms and is part of the "Isn't She Lovely" Line! Elegant and unique!

Talk Tuesday - Body Graphics Trunk Show

Hattitude did cabbage town in toronto! thanks for everyone who came! it had too many vendors down there there though, I don't think I will be doing that show again next year.
I finally was able to get a pop up tent! make for putting the tent up easy at shows. I always got a professional banner printed, will be hanging it at the farmers market tomorrow! It has been so nice to have the pop up tent, makes it so much easier to set up and tear down with just me and my mom's help!

I'm taking the fall off of school and going to run Hattitude this fall and Christmas season! Things still to do on check list, get on etsy.com!

This weekend I am doing a Trunk show at a really great clothing store in Orangeville! Come check it out at Body Graphics. I'll be there from friday september 25th- sunday september 27th!
You'll be able to get a cute outfit and pick out a new necklace to match all in one stop shopping!

I also just found out I got accepted into a Christmas art fair in November at the Rose theatre in Brampton. Only 5 jewellers were allowed in, and I got one of the spots! Yay, exciting!

I'm also booking up for home parties for the christmas and fall season. Some people are excited to get free gift certificates from Hattitude for hosting the jewellery party to give away as christmas presents! Some people are opting for the "Christmas Shopping for a Cure" and donating 20% of the profits to their favourite charity
! Going to be a good fall!

More Monday

I have not posted on the fashion blog in a couple weeks! I'm sorry. I've been super busy, trying to get into some Christmas craft fairs, as well as getting ready for the clothing store trunk show coming up this weekend! I will post about that in Talk Tuesday.

so here is the More Monday edition!
The fall fashion is out, and it's great! Perhaps
my favourite thing this fall, is the band style jacket! It is so cute.
I'm also a huge fan of the men's vests this season. This week I paired Hattitude's "Autumn Wins" necklace with a great wool vest from Ruche.

Layered and lots of chain necklaces are great for this fall. You can throw them over any pattern and over any chunky knit sweater with a pair of your favourite leggings! I would even put Autumn wins with a great dress, and some brown leggings with some anklet boots!

Another FAbulous store.

Here is another great online store, Shop Cuffs. I love shopping online, A. it's easy, B. you get the most unique things, and most likely no one else you know will have the same thing!
I think i am going to purchase the cheap mondays high waisted jeans from Shop Cuff. They are so cute with the little triangle slit at the waist and i love the three buttons. I also have a perfect victorian ruffle lilac top to wear with them, and of course a Hattitude "Isn't She Lovely" necklace. Ooo...perfection.

Take this sweet little "Isn't She Lovely" Hattitude necklace 'Blossom into Fall' which is fantastic for the fall with it's flower vintage pendant. Throw it on with a white or brown tank with a long yellow cardigan with wicked buttons (not happy with your cardigans current buttons, go to fabric land or the flea market and pick out some awesome retro ones and sew them on yourself, 10 minutes tops!) Tuck your tank into this cute little red high-waisted skirt. Throw on some knee high boots and you have a kickin outfit for the fall!
You can get any of these cute little clothing numbers from Ruche online boutique! You can get the Hattitude necklace from You've Got Hattitude

Fashion Friday

Here is another blog I like. It's called VanillaScented. The girl is a 20 year old student from Oslo. I have two friends who have made Scandinavia their home for a few months this year, so I dedicate this post to them! Check out the girl. I love this photo. The high-waisted black shorts and brown with a silver vintage necklace. Ultra Chic. Bring this look to Canada, although we might have to replace the shorts for some black pants the way the weather is turning! brr

Try a silver Hattitude necklace to go with your own outfit like this for the fall, like 'Galaxy Far Far Away'! (below right)
Or 'Try Throw away the Key' (below left) for
an ultra vintage feel with a black heart to match the pants!

Timeless Thursdays

This week I'm featuring Jackie Kennedy. A timeless classic woman. Everyone should channel Jackie Kennedy every once in awhile for their fashion poise and tips. This photo summerizes everything perfectly. I love the sweet little bow she is wearing across her waist, as well as the pearls. I also want to bring back gloves. I adore gloves. Perhaps because my favourite era is the 1920's. I love flappers. This is a photo of me as a flapper from halloween and my boyfriend as a gangster from the 20's. Most people say though that I belong in the 40's, but the 20's have stolen my heart.
Pearls are back again this fall. Whether it's the flapper look, wearing a long pearl necklace down to your waist, but update the look with a 'Isn't She Lovely' Hattitude necklace up around your neck to give it a modern feel. This 'Violet Viola' simple, yet modern necklace with sterling silver bail and vintage pendant featured below to the right. Throw it on with a long pearl necklace. The new 'Isn't She Lovely' Line from Hattitude is great for layering necklaces!

Maybe you don't want to do the flapper look this fall, but still want some pearls in your necklace. So try Hattitude's 'Pearly Pink' necklace featured to the left.
