cbc radio interview

Outfit Details:
Sweater: vintage, Vancouver
Belt: Gift
Skirt: Thrifted
Boots: Town shoes

I love the little peek-a-boo of turquoise in this outfit. The turquoise belt and the turquoise legs. It's not obnoxious, but just enough, don't you think?

It's absolutly freezing here in London, Ontario today. The wind is howling. I'm still trying to figure out how it was +15 degrees yesterday and -15 degrees today. A change of 30 degrees... global warming for you I suppose. Kind of scary. In a big way.

I was on CBC radio this morning, speaking to my surgeon who saved my life and the host of metro morning. My donor and Dr. Keshavjee made my life beautiful again. I am forever in their debt. For those of you who don't know, I had a double lung transplant 2 and a half years ago. I was in end stage Cystic Fibrosis and thankfully a match came just in time for me. I've been thriving with these new lungs ever since!
Smile. Because today you are breathing effortlessly. Some people are struggling just to inhale. Smile. Because you can.

Happy Almost Friday. I hope you have a lovely dovely weekend.

how to wear wool sweaters

Outfit Details:
Skirt: Vintage
Belt: Clothing swap
Sweater: Thrifted
Shirt/Dress: F21

I love this outfit. Especially how warm it is!  The skirt and sweater are wool and the shirt is actually a dress keeping me extra warm tucked in! I think this necklace is precious as well. It's so oldie timey and I just love the way it was designed. Click here to see my other items from my shop.

I've been hearing wedding bells all week. I'm really excited. I've been working away on an Etsy wedding shop, where I'm displaying all my beautiful jewelry for bridesmaids and bridal parties. You can check it out by clicking here.

We have been going out for London licious every night it feels like. Blowing our eating out budget for January and February. Londonlicious is a take off of winterlicious in Toronto. All the local restaurants put on a special menu that is only $30 for a 3 course meal so you can get to try every restaurant that normally you would not try. It's a really great idea.

Tonight we are off to see Lincoln. Just another film to check off the list of Oscar Nominations. Have a great Tuesday!

jammed packed weekend

Outfit Details:
Shorts: gift
Tights: The Bay
Shirt: Banana Republic
Cardigan: vintage
Brooch/bracelet: Vintage, gift
Cat: Beau Beau

I love this outfit. I love the shorts with the old fashioned suspenders. My older brother gave me these shorts 4 years ago and he picked them out ALL by himself. They are still one of my favourites in my closet. I think this outfit is great because it's all in the little details, like pinning an old brooch on to your pocket. Isn't it a sweet little detail?

How was your weekend? Mine was jammed packed. We saw a play at the Grande theater. Kim's convenience.  For any of you Torontonians have you seen this play? It started at the Fringe festival and has been making its way across the country.

We also saw Silver linings play book...wow. That has my vote to win best film at the Oscar Nominations. It was fantastic. I also went to a greeting card making party on Sunday. I went away with 10 cards that I had hand made. They are so cute. I'll post some on the blog tomorrow.

Did you get up to anything fun this weekend?

a little banana republic in my life

Outfit Details:
Shirt: Banana Republic
Skirt: Banana Republic
Sweater: Gift, Banana Republic
Belt: thrifted
Jewellery: Hattitude Jewellery

Ever since I started dating Tristan Banana Republic has slowly started becoming one of my favourite stores. It has been his favourite store forever and it's slowly weaving it's web on me. Can you tell it was a BR kind of Christmas?
I love the quality of clothes you get from BR compared to H&M or Forever 21. (Don't get me wrong I do love a good shopping spree to those stores!)

This is probably one of my favourite outfits. It is Hattified to the max. The colour mustard. Check. Pattern on Pattern. Check. Hattitude necklace. Check. It has all of my favourite things in one outfit. Swoon worthy.
What is your go to check list for an outfit to be perfect and complete?
Do you have any weekend plans? I'm going to see Silver Lining play book tonight! FINALLY.
Happy Friday!

beasts of the southern wild

Outfit Details:
Sweater: Preloved store, Queen st. toronto
Dress: Preloved
Boots: thrifted, Chez Thrift, Bolton

Woowwweee. I am tired from this past weekend. What a whirlwind weekend at the Bridal show. It's amazing how tired one can get from socializing and standing on your feet all day! Thank you so much to my lovely boyfriend Tristan, my amazing cousin Christy and wonderful friend Katherine, for helping me SO much this past weekend! My little feet, mind and soul could not have gotten through the weekend without you guys!
It was quite a successful weekend.

I'm trying hard to catch up on the Oscar Nominations. We watched Beasts of the Southern Wild. It was quite a fantastic film. The young girl is nominated for best actress and the movie is nominated for best film. It almost seemed like a documentary in some parts it was so real.

a man in a bow tie always makes me weak at the knees...

Doesn't Tristan look dashing? I love a man in a a bow tie. I convinced him to be in a couple of the photos since he looked so smart! Here are a few shots of me and my manfriend trying to create a non christmas banner for my website.  Do you like it? The banner is the last photo above. We lucked out and got 10 degree weather. It's now back to -10. BRRR. The final banner is up on my online shop and facebook page

I can't believe the London Bridal Show is tomorrow! I'm so excited to help brides design and customize their dream jewellery for gifts for their bridesmaids. Custom jewellery is one of my favourite things to do. I love working with the dresses, necklines and colours and seeing what works best with the Bride's taste.  If you're in London, Ontario come check out my Hattitude exhibit booth at the London Convention Centre!
Have a wonderful weekend! Are you doing anything special?
