How was everyone's weekend? I was recuperating from my girls getaway cottage weekend yesterday. It was slow in the Hattitude studio. Can you believe a cottage full of girls and we did not snap any photos! Hard to believe eh?

I started reading a superb book, Shadow of the wind, by Carlos Ruiz Zafon. Has anyone read it? I was in a reading slump for a good 4 or 5 months, actually putting down books after 50 pages and I NEVER do that. I just could not find a good one. Finally this one has peaked my interest. I've been known to be a book worm, so for me not to be voraciously reading a novel is quite unheard of.
Do you have any recommendations? What's on your book shelf?

  1. I have never read that book, I may have to look into it, I am in a bit of a reading slump but I've been so busy with school.

  2. I just love your style! you are so cute and this outfit looks comfortable, adorable and like you could wear it pretty much anywhere :) As for books... I'm really into urban fantasies right now and currently reading the Kate Daniel series by Ilona Andrews, it's a great read!

  3. love this look, very whimsical, reminds me of the prose of dh lawrence.... speaking of book recommendations, "lady chatterly's love" and "women in love" are fantastic!

i just finished "the road" by cormac mccarthy.... very heavy and very dark, but one of the most beautiful books, in all senses of the word, i have read in years. his writing is exquisite!

  4. A weekend at the cottage sounds really quaint and delightful! I think I could use another getaway about now. As always you look like you stepped straight off the pages of a beautiful storybook. I love the whole outfit and especially all the accessories.

I've been on a reading hiatus as well. I really need to pick up a good book again, but most of my free time these days is consumed with writing music or learning to play my ukelele better...haha. Hope you have a wonderful week Hattie!
