shabby chic anne of green gables

Jacket: Winners
Scarf: Thrifted, Toronto
Sweater: Thrifted, Toronto (rescued from cousins goodwill bag)
Skirt: Grandmothers
Boots: Blowfish
Ring: Barbados
Hat: Grandmothers
Necklace: Hattitude
Bracelets: Hattitude, Barbados
Purse: Thrifted, Chez Thrift

How this outfit came to be Hattified: I started with the skirt. The sweater looked great. Strip on strip. It added that punch that I love having in my outfits. The brown belt tied in my dark tights, and dark boots.  Only boots works with this outfit. I tried every shoe. Finally settling on these boots. Can you think of anything else that might have looked cute?

Why this outfit works: The two patterns of stripes work together. The colours are all in the same palette. The boots make it not so oldy timey and the hat gives it an anne of green gables look...shabby chic styles.

Another version: This skirt was hard to pull off. I needed the hat and the boots to make it work. If you don't have these things, try wearing a fedora hat with a nice pair of skinny dark jeans and a vintage sweater.

I can feel the summer heat in the air! It's suppose to be 24 degrees on Thursday. Cottage season is just around the corner. What's your favourite thing to do in the Summer?

I like the summer, for the summer weddings. I am currently working on 5 pieces for a wedding party in September. I love designing custom pieces to match certain outfits.

Half way through the week! On saturday is my annual clothing swap with my girlfriends. Can't wait to shed some of my closet and gain some steals from them.

Don't forget May is Cystic Fibrosis month. Click here to find out all about this deadly disease.

  4. Amazing as always Hattie! Summer here is about hitting the beach and eating popsicles. And outdoor shoots! But I can feel the monsoon arriving.
