What does a halloween wedding shoot look like? a midsummer nightmare...

This was a spooky shoot a few wedding vendors from Toronto, ON put together. It's the perfect scary treat for this All Hallow Eve day. I hope you are eating candy, carving pumpkins, and watching Hocus Pocus. Happy Halloween!

an english inspired outfit

Crown Jewels necklace click here
Sweater: Winners
Kilt: Thrifted, Chez thrift, bolton
Necklace: Hattitude jewels www.GotHattitude.com
Collared shirt: Thrifted
Boots: Town shoes
Hat: Queen st. west, Toronto

It's now turned from summer heat wearing dresses to wearing my fleece tights, my kilts and warm sweaters! It sure was chilly today - 5 degrees! brrr.

This is a Europe inspired outfit. I just got back from spending two weeks in England. I just adore this floppy hat. Something about putting on a floppy hat and instantly your outfit goes from a 1950's grandmother's outfit and turns into a modern day fashion look. High boots are also important in this type of look. If you don't have knee high boots, that is shame and that must be remedied for this season! I think high boots modernize any outfit and are great for longer wool skirts, that COULD be frumpy but updates them to be stylish.
The three patterns on this outfit all work well together because they are either small pattern or they have a lot of cream or solid colour background to compliment it. Throwing on a statement necklace is also important when trying to modernize pullover sweaters and below the knee length skirts. Statement necklaces look awesome over collared shirts and pull over sweaters or cardigans. Do the buttons right up, leave your shirt un-tucked and wear a long cardigan with a statement necklace from my online shop www.GotHattitude.com with some jeans for a more casual look if you don't think you can pull of this english inspired outfit.

Are you all ready for Halloween? Tristan and I are decorating this weekend. We are having a halloween party and the guest of honours are Mr. and Mrs. skeleton and their family. They'll be residing at our dinner table for the evening. (Can you tell I love halloween and can't wait for next weekend's party, strobe lights, fog machine, dry ice, guts, blood and more!)

Tristan and I are having some troubles figuring out what we should be. Here's our last two year outfits.
What are you going as? Do you celebrate halloween? What was your favourite costume you ever dressed up as?

Have a boo-tastic Halloween!

Boo

Here's what I'm wearing for Halloween, the day of the dead. Stripes, orange, and cats! Inspired by a friend of mine who loves cats, and themed outfits. Check out my skull earring studs as well. Awesome sauce.

Please bare with me while my photo quality is not up to snuff and while I figure out how to take photos inside. Any tips would be so appreciated! I have a canon, with a kit lense, a zoom lense, and a 2.8F lense...but still...it's not going so well. Do I need a flash? Help! Hurricane Sandy and the pure cold are stopping me from taking some great photos outside. Perhaps I'll just have to wait for the sun to come back.

Hope you are all having a wooonderful and boo-tastic Halloween!

The perfect bracelet for the perfect day! Doesn't it remind you of The Nightmare before Christmas? (Plus it's great for your little black or silver dresses come the winter months!)

a new locket in the shop

What I wore:
Shoes: Chez Thrift
Tights: American Apparel
Blazer: Club Monaco
Sweater dress: Hannahs Closet
Locket necklace: Coming to my shop soon!
boy is it hard finding a place to take photos since Hurricane Sandy decided to breeze near London, ON. I'm glad to hear no one has been too tragically hit by her. Keeping those in mind that have been hit by her and supporting the Red Cross.
I took these photos wondering around the inside of my building. The rooftop lounge, the alleyway to outside etc. It's hard getting the lighting and for it not to be blurry, yet still light enough. Any tips for shooting indoors?
Tonight we're going to the Lost Souls Stroll. Which is a theater group, Fringe putting on a haunted walk throughout downtown. I'm so excited. I LOVE Halloween.

P.s. I just got a new iphone 5...never owned one before. Any tips or tricks or cool apps I should be downloading let me know! I'm slowly working my way through it. Add me to instagram for cute photos of my cat and of course to see where the magic happens in my studio @hattitudejewels

p.p.s have you started your christmas shopping yet? I know it's still tons early? But if you love perusing the internet and love having packages delivered to your doorstep then check out my shop for handmade items using new and vintage recycled pieces. New pieces being added daily. Happy shopping. www.GotHattitude.com

Missing from the photo is our paper bag princess (a very hairy 27 year old male), our knight, and a captain. Sorry you guys missed the photo shoot.
Everyone that we had up to our new place dressed up and looked amazing! Thanks for such a great Halloween weekend.

How was everyone else's weekend? What did you dress up as? Are you going out on Wednesday?

leather skirts

What I wore:
Boots: The sentimentalist, London, ON
Skirt: Pre- Loved, Toronto
Sweater: Thrifted in Guelph
Belt: Mom's old one

Good morning blogosphere.
I love this outfit, for the skirt. There is something awesome about a leather skirt, especially with this season being all about the leather. This one was re-done using old leather skirts by a company in Toronto, called Pre-loved. They redesign clothing into new items, using old materials, very similar to the work I do with my jewellery. They just recently signed a contract with roots, anthropology and the bay! Congratulations Pre-Loved. You deserved it.

I put this sweater and necklace with it so it doesn't look too 'motorcycle babe' with my lace up booties. This is a new necklace I wanted to show case today. It'll be up in the shop tomorrow so keep your eye out. Doesn't the belt just add a splash of fun? While the heart tights keep it fun and girly.

Have a great rest of the week! Do you have any halloween plans?
Me and my dude are going as a team... I'll post pictures (it's easier for you to see who/what we're being). What are you going as?
