a toy soldier kind of outfit
Outfit details:
Pants: Vintage
Suspenders: Thrifted
Shirt: Dear Creatures, San Francisco
Jacket: Vintage, Victoria, BC
Purse: Vintage, Grandmothers
I've been travelling like crazy this month. We calculated it, and I have spent a total of 6 nights in my apartment. Between Toronto, San Francisco, Caledon and London I have had little time to spend at home! It is so nice to be in the comfort of my own home again. I did some spring closet cleaning today. I found so many gems that I had forgotten about as they were shoved to the back of my closet. I put away all my winter woolies inside my trunk that sits at the end of my bed ready for next year to come.
I love this outfit for the fun. It reminds me of a toy solider. The blouse is so cute and I was lucky enough to get it in San Francisco at a sample sale from an independent designer, Dear Creatures. If you have not checked them out click here to go to their site. I am a girl all about the little details so I adore the bow they put on this blouse...of course I'm a HUGE cat fan so who could not swoon at the print!
This jacket is one of my favourites! I love the leather and old badges on this jacket my boyfriend and I picked up at a thrift store out in British Columbia. One of my favourite things is to collect articles of clothing from places that I have travelled. They become my souvenirs. What do you collect when you go away on holidays?

wrapping wedding party gifts!
Outfit details:
Skirt: Toronto Queen st store, vintage fabric
Vest: Winners
Shirt: Urban outfitters
Tights: The bay
Necklace: Hattitude Jewellery
I just love this skirt. It's made out of vintage fabric, so of course it spoke to me in store. It's a little autumn feeling this outfit, but hey it was so grey yesterday. Woo Wee. It was tough shooting yesterday to get these photos. Sorry for the grainy photos. It was just so overcast I had to keep upping the exposure on my camera. SO overcast and dreary. I felt like I was back in Vancouver (we lived there for three months last year). It was POURING this morning and has been for the past few days, SEVERE rain fall warning in effect..and it's suppose to snow in London, Ontario on Friday. Give me a break pulease. Anyways I busted out my oh so cute rain booties, and my floral print umbrella, which will keep me going through this rain. At least April showers bring May's flowers.
If you're wondering how I do up my packages for my lovely brides to be. I wrap them in antique doilies. Here is a snap shot of a JR bridesmaid bracelet I custom made. Here are some quick photos or you can follow me on instagram www.instagram.com/hattitudejewels for up dates.

how to wear a lace dress
Outfit Details:
Dress: Winners
Shirt: Joe Fresh
Tights: The bay
Jewellery: Hattitude jewellery
Here is one way to wear a lace dress even though the weather is quite chilly. I got a little over zealous with thinking of summer (I bought this dress for Barbados vacation) and I wore it with my wool tights (this is key my friends) with a long sleeve off white shirt underneath my blue jean shirt. But I just looove this pretty soft lace dress. Doesn't it just scream summer drinks on a beach? What are you looking forward to the most come the warmer spring weather? I'm counting down the day until out door farmers markets! It's been a long winter without all the fresh veggies and fruits.
I've been listening to Father John Misty as of late. Give him a whirl on your speakers. Let the music flow through you while picturing the sounds of seagulls, waves, splashes and imagining the sand between your toes while the sun kisses your face. Summer. Enjoy.

the perfect in between weather dress
I just love this dress. It's the perfect in between weather, a Sprinter (Spring/Winter) dress. It's warm enough that I can wear it when it's a blizzard out (like this morning) but cool enough that come the sunshine (like this afternoon) I still feel comfortable. The necklace is a new favourite of mine. I made it from an art deco piece made from bake lite. It's pretty awesome with it's flowers etched in to the centre piece.
I hope everyone had a fabulous Easter! I love long weekends. Ours was extra long. Back to working this week and trying to get some new pieces up in the online shop. Have you seen my new design for it? www.GotHattitude.com

singing in the rain (or snow)
Follow my blog with Bloglovin since google plus is going away click here if you want to stay connected with me :)
Outfit details:
Outfit details:
Poncho: Kling
Pants: Vintage
Hat: borrowed from a friend
Brooch: Vintage, gift
Jewellery: Hattitude jewellery shop
Hello lovely blogettes and fellow fashionista readers! I'm in love with this poncho my boyfriends mother gave to me for Christmas. It kind of looks like I'm singing in the rain (or snow) with the hat and poncho style? She got the poncho all the way from Spain! How neat is that? Have you ever check out kling clothing. They have the coolest items. I was lucky enough to get a few for Christmas!
I love pairing something vintage with something new. The pants are vintage, the poncho new. It creates a more modern fun look without looking frumpy dumpy. I also LOVE the little brooch I pinned on the poncho. It's a basket full of CATS! My older brother bought me it for christmas. So cute. All in the details, right?
I'm back from the beautiful Barbados. It was such a lovely trip. It's so funny how you just feel SO much healthier down south then cold Canada. We are so stationary here with all this snow and freezing weather. I was hoping when I got back Spring would be here. This is not the case, in fact it seems winter is dragging it's deep claws a little more for a little longer. It's already snowed every day since we've been back (three days ago).
Two BIG pieces of news
1. my dear childhood friend got engaged a month or two ago and is getting married this summer. I get the honour of standing up beside her as her bridesmaid. I'm so excited. She is such a dear friend. What a fun summer filled with weddings, working on the jewellery for bridal parties (click here to see my bridal boutique) AND attending them.
2. My boyfriend got his dream job! He is now a field technician for the Ontario Archeology Museum. It's such a great opportunity and what a wonderful experience. He was offered the job on the spot after the interview... how often does that happen?! So proud of him! He's been working SO hard the last year and a half taking courses in archeology and trying to get in to this field. All he needs now is the hat and the whip, Indian Jones styles.
What did I miss in your lives? Looking forward to catching up on the blogosphere world this weekend!

heading down south
Outfit Details:
Shirt: Lolitta, London, ON
Skirt: Vintage
Tights: The bay
Belt: H & M
Necklace: Hattitude jewellery. Available in my shop here
I love the vibrant and bright colours of this outfit. Orange and Purple with of course a little mustard belt thrown in, is my favourite. I toned it down with some neutral brown tights. I like the chunky necklace up by the collared blouse. It's a nice touch.
I've been packing for Barbados. I head there Tuesday morning, so excuse the lack of posts for the next week. I hope you all have a great March Break!
If you get a chance check out my shop. I re-did it and spruced it up a bit. How do you like the new look? www.GotHattitude.com

how to update a vintage necklace
Outfit Details:
Skirt: Mother's
Denim Shirt: Joe Fresh
Shirt: Urban Outfitters
Belt: Thrifted
Scarf: Vintage
Necklace: Gift, Vintage 1940's
I love this beautiful necklace. It was a gift for christmas from my boyfriend. It's a real 1940's (?) vintage necklace. It's absolutly so beautiful. It's hard to know how to wear this beautiful piece of jewelry without looking dated, so you throw on some modern clothes, denim shirts work awesome, patterned tops are another great item. As always a belt helps over top of your tucked in denim shirt. A pair of jeans would have worked well with this vintage necklace to update it as well.
This past weekend I went to the best pot luck I have ever been to! All the food was amazing. I guess you can tell we're getting a little older and learning to cook, everyone brought gourmet pot luck items instead of buying a vegetable platter from the grocery store. We also went to a London Lightening basketball game. It was our first one and it was neat. We're both not huge fans of basketball, but we went with 10 other people and the tickets were free so of course it was a hoot.
How was your weekend? I'm in Toronto for a few days having a little adventure with my sistercuz. Hope your week is going well!
Follow me on Facebook for new updates on the latest jewels. All my jewelry is one of a kind and made from vintage recycled items. Perfect of the gal who loves vintage!
