eighty's crop tops

Outfit details-
Skirt: Vintage
Top: Sentamentalist vintage clothing in London, ON
Purse: Vintage, Chez thrift, bolton
shoe: Seychelles

I love tie cropped eighty shirts, and long flowy skirts, I guess that's why I've featured two long skirts on the blog this week. This purse is one of my favourite items. I find the shape just really neat. I also love anything navy since it's such a hard colour to find. This is a very summery outfit and makes me enjoy the last day of August. I really don't want the summer to end, but I heard September is going to be hot, which is good, since August was a bit of a rip off with how chilly it was.

I spent all this week preparing for the wedding show that I am in next weekend. As well I spent this weekend hunting down fifties attire for a creative I'm working on, an engagement editorial shoot. I'm super excited for this shoot, as of course I love the fifties! We are shooting at an old retro diner and a carnival fair. FUN.

I hope you are all headed to somewhere with a beach this weekend with the heat! My lad and I have special anniversary plans out of town.
Have a wonderful long weekend.

p.s. don't forget to check out my bridal boutique click here or my regular jewellery online shop click here for some new vintage upcycled pieces that went up on the shop this week. I'm quite bug eyed for this necklace (wink wink) www.GotHattitude.com

a san francisco outfit

Outfit Details:
Tights: Sock shop, San Francisco
Shirt: Swap
Jean Jacket: Chez Thrift, Bolton, ON
Shoes: Shoe store, San Francisco
Scarf: Gift from boyfriend
Jewellery: Hattitude jewellery

I love this outfit. I love my tights I picked up in San Francisco. I received a ton of compliments on them today. Everyone asking where I had got them, because of course Ontario just probably would not have these tights. Someone said Europe, right? Nope. Good ol' San Francisco. I was blown away with the shopping there. Haight street is a dream come true. Walking in to the vintage stores there was like walking in to a costume shop. Unbelievable.

You can pick this lovely necklace up in my shop. It's one of a kind, hand made by me, Hattitude jewellery. Click here to shop around.

a peter pan inspired outfit and organ donation

Outfit Details:
Hat: Aldo
Vest: Vintage
Shirt: Banana Republic
Sweater: Thrifted
Pants: American Apparel

I love this outfit. My hair is finally long enough to sport hats. This is such a great little floppy hat. My closet definitely needs more hats in it I think. This outfit reminds me of a Peter Pan take minus the wool socks? Hey it's chilly here today! The tight green pants, with the feather hat. Inspiration for the day is Peter Pan. A vintage vest with any outfit always looks awesome.

How are your friday's shaping up to be? Tonight we are playing in a bowling tournament with some friends and this afternoon is flxyoga (yoga with resistance bands hanging from the roof). It's quite awesome and SUCH a good work out.

April is Organ Donation Awareness month and May is Cystic Fibrosis month. In honour of these two VERY important issues I'm donating 10% of my online sales from my shop CLICK HERE to The Lady Team's Great strides walk at the zoo to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis.

I was born with Cystic Fibrosis and 2 and half years ago underwent a double lung transplant that saved my life. It's been a long road of recovery but it's been beautiful and breath taking! I've loved every minute of the last 2 and a half years and can't wait for the next adventures (did someone say San Francisco?)!  Please talk to your family about your wishes on Organ Donation and save someone's life when you're gone. I owe everything to the person that decided to be an organ donor and I am forever grateful for the generosity of a complete stranger.

cbc radio interview

Outfit Details:
Sweater: vintage, Vancouver
Belt: Gift
Skirt: Thrifted
Boots: Town shoes

I love the little peek-a-boo of turquoise in this outfit. The turquoise belt and the turquoise legs. It's not obnoxious, but just enough, don't you think?

It's absolutly freezing here in London, Ontario today. The wind is howling. I'm still trying to figure out how it was +15 degrees yesterday and -15 degrees today. A change of 30 degrees... global warming for you I suppose. Kind of scary. In a big way.

I was on CBC radio this morning, speaking to my surgeon who saved my life and the host of metro morning. My donor and Dr. Keshavjee made my life beautiful again. I am forever in their debt. For those of you who don't know, I had a double lung transplant 2 and a half years ago. I was in end stage Cystic Fibrosis and thankfully a match came just in time for me. I've been thriving with these new lungs ever since!
Smile. Because today you are breathing effortlessly. Some people are struggling just to inhale. Smile. Because you can.

Happy Almost Friday. I hope you have a lovely dovely weekend.

beasts of the southern wild

Outfit Details:
Sweater: Preloved store, Queen st. toronto
Dress: Preloved
Boots: thrifted, Chez Thrift, Bolton

Woowwweee. I am tired from this past weekend. What a whirlwind weekend at the Bridal show. It's amazing how tired one can get from socializing and standing on your feet all day! Thank you so much to my lovely boyfriend Tristan, my amazing cousin Christy and wonderful friend Katherine, for helping me SO much this past weekend! My little feet, mind and soul could not have gotten through the weekend without you guys!
It was quite a successful weekend.

I'm trying hard to catch up on the Oscar Nominations. We watched Beasts of the Southern Wild. It was quite a fantastic film. The young girl is nominated for best actress and the movie is nominated for best film. It almost seemed like a documentary in some parts it was so real.
How were your weekend's?

Have a boo-tastic Halloween!

Boo

Here's what I'm wearing for Halloween, the day of the dead. Stripes, orange, and cats! Inspired by a friend of mine who loves cats, and themed outfits. Check out my skull earring studs as well. Awesome sauce.

Please bare with me while my photo quality is not up to snuff and while I figure out how to take photos inside. Any tips would be so appreciated! I have a canon, with a kit lense, a zoom lense, and a 2.8F lense...but still...it's not going so well. Do I need a flash? Help! Hurricane Sandy and the pure cold are stopping me from taking some great photos outside. Perhaps I'll just have to wait for the sun to come back.

Hope you are all having a wooonderful and boo-tastic Halloween!

The perfect bracelet for the perfect day! Doesn't it remind you of The Nightmare before Christmas? (Plus it's great for your little black or silver dresses come the winter months!)

a new locket in the shop

What I wore:
Shoes: Chez Thrift
Tights: American Apparel
Blazer: Club Monaco
Sweater dress: Hannahs Closet
Locket necklace: Coming to my shop soon!
boy is it hard finding a place to take photos since Hurricane Sandy decided to breeze near London, ON. I'm glad to hear no one has been too tragically hit by her. Keeping those in mind that have been hit by her and supporting the Red Cross.
I took these photos wondering around the inside of my building. The rooftop lounge, the alleyway to outside etc. It's hard getting the lighting and for it not to be blurry, yet still light enough. Any tips for shooting indoors?
Tonight we're going to the Lost Souls Stroll. Which is a theater group, Fringe putting on a haunted walk throughout downtown. I'm so excited. I LOVE Halloween.

P.s. I just got a new iphone 5...never owned one before. Any tips or tricks or cool apps I should be downloading let me know! I'm slowly working my way through it. Add me to instagram for cute photos of my cat and of course to see where the magic happens in my studio @hattitudejewels

p.p.s have you started your christmas shopping yet? I know it's still tons early? But if you love perusing the internet and love having packages delivered to your doorstep then check out my shop for handmade items using new and vintage recycled pieces. New pieces being added daily. Happy shopping. www.GotHattitude.com
