Are you coming to the drake wedding show?

Outfit details:
Jacket: 80's vintage
Hat: Queen st. ??
Leggings: winners
Dress: Mom's 70's vintage
purse: Chez Thrift, vintage
Sweater: Banana republic
Earrings: Hattitude Jewellery

It's my first outfit post in months. I am totally diggin' this spring weather! I can finally go outside and shoot without getting frost bitten! Sometimes using a tripod by yourself is not the most ideal situation in the winter months. I love the sparkle and shine of the Swarovski crystal beads. These earring beads are recycled from an old necklace. They catch every colour you wear that day. Isn't it neat my mom's 70's dress? I love the print it seems so springy to me.

I am busy getting ready for the drake show this weekend. Are you coming? It's a wedding expo with so many wonderful talented Toronto vendors this Saturday (april 26th) from 10am-4pm. Check out the show here. Click.  Come by and check it out if you are engaged and planning your wedding!

I'm slowly running out of jewellery in my collection! I can't wait to get designing again and update the site once we move into our new pad this Sunday! Roncesvalles, Toronto here we come! I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter. Have a great Tuesday!

my grandfathers hat

Outfit Details:
Dress/Jumper: Vintage, Wild Rose, Guelph, ON
Denim shirt: Joe Fresh
Belt: Forever 21
Tights: The Bay
Boots: Chez Thrift, Bolton, ON
Hat: Grandfathers

I think this hat completes the outfit, which used to be my grandfathers. Also the yellow bow belt. Who doesn't swoon over a bow belt? I now own three of them and LOVE them all to pieces. I particularly like bow belts because they update what could have been a frumpy vintage jumper into a modern day outfit. I really think denim shirts are key in updating your vintage finds as well, if you want to update them, some people just love the classic look of vintage. I like to update mine a little with modern style items, such as bow belts and denim shirts. I guess that's why I update vintage brooches and earrings in to new funky modern day jewelry to wear every day. Have you checked out my online store yet? Take a gander over here at my online shop. I hope your Friday nights are going swimmingly. I am off for a date night dinner. Tomorrow off to a card... party? Is that what one would call it? It's a gathering where you make your own greeting cards, sort of like a tupper ware party but make your own greeting cards. It's fun. I love being creative like that, but don't own half the scrapbooking items that are needed to do it, so this is a great excuse!
Have a great weekend!

Are you ready for the Oscars this Sunday?

Outfit Details:
Sweater: Vintage, Sentimentalist, London, ON
Jean Shirt: Joe Fresh
Skirt: Vintage, Chez Thrift, Bolton, ON
Tights: The Bay

Gosh I love this sweater. It's so feminine and springy looking, no? I love the little details of the flowers. One thing it's not the warmest sweater. There's no wool in it. I try to wear it on little warmer winter days (is that an oxymoron?). I finally found a denim shirt that fits! All I had to do was go grocery shopping (on a girls weekend up north!) to find it at Joe Fresh. Was it strange buying my fruits and veggies and clothes as well? A little. But hey, if I can shop AND get my groceries...I'm a happy lady.

Have you been keeping up on all your oscar movies? I'm so far behind! One year I saw all of them. The Oscars are my favourite time of year, mainly because it's become a tradition with my girlfriends and I to get together, dress to the nines, eat some treats and play some Oscar bingo.
Do you have a tradition with your friends you adore? Valentines day? Easter? I love hearing other people's traditions!

april showers, bring may flowers

Tights: American Apparel
Skirt: Thrifted
Belt: H & M
Shirt: Thrifted, Chez thrift, bolton
Jacket: Mom's
Bracelets: Hattitude, Tofino
Headscarf: Thrifted

How this outfit came to be Hattified: Truth is I was rushing out to meet up with some friends at a restaurant for a welcome home night for another friend in from Alberta...I needed a quick outfit. I started with the shirt and the hair scarf (didn't have time to spruce up my hair). I thought the skirt matched, and threw in some mustard tights to amp it up, since I love mustard and royal blue together.

Why this outfit works: The mustard tights and the mustard belt match. The blue in the top and the royal blue skirt match. The brown shoes bring it down and casualify it. (yes I just made that word up

Another version: Wear it with an off white/cream coloured top.

Today is a day of jewellery organizing. I feel like my mind has been cufuddled (...i think i just made up another word, 2 for 2) with all the messiness in my studio. I'm switching desks, so that will be a nice chance to organize all my jewellery and get the creative juices flowing again. Any tips on staying inspired when you work from home?

Monster closet?

Shirt: Winners
Pants: Chez Thrift - no alterations
Belt: Chez Thrift
Jacket: Chez Thrift
Rings: Presents
Watch: Meow in Guelph
Bracelet: Grandmothers arm band and You've Got Hattitude Jewellery
Necklace: You've Got Hattitude

I love this outfit. but for serious...where's my boat?

These pants are probably my favourite find EVER at a thrift store. This is the first time I've worn them, and I feel like I should be on a boat. We raided my grandmothers closet this weekend. Monster closet. We look like we are robbing her house. We all went thrifting through her stuff. I scored that hat! You'll see more stuff soon from Gma's closet.  Ever raided your Grandmothers closet?

totally lime jello (ous)

Tights: Clothing swap
Shoes: Winners
Dress: Thirfted-Chez Thrift
Belt: Chez Thrift
Shrug: Fresh Collective on Queen st.
Purse: Manitoulin Island
Necklace: You've Got Hattitude Jewellery

I wore this outfit yesterday. Am so glad it has finally stopped raining in Toronto. Blargh. I bought an umbrella, ella, ella at the thrift store for 2 dollars, since for the past week it has felt like we are living in the maritimes.

My parents booked a trip to Newfoundland this week...I'm totally lime jello. Has anyone been there? I've heard its like Ireland, which is my dream trip! I want to go there badly. Hopefully me and a girlfriend are road tripping it out to Newfoundland in September, although with these gas prices, don't count on it!
