buttons and stripes

What I wore:
Loafers: Walking on a cloud
Dress: Vintage, Chez Thrift
Headscarf: vintage

It's been up and down, up and down for the weather here in London. Some days I go out in wool socks and end up sweating buckets, and other days I go out in a skirt and am freezing, needing my wool knee high socks back! It's a tricky business this fall stuff, but today I got it right. It was a lovely warm day today. I love love the buttons on this dress and the stripes. I am getting excited for the layering of autumn and the beautiful leaves changing.

My cousin has been visiting so we've been doing up London, Ontario taking her to the local vintage stores, the cool little cafes, and the beautiful parks! How was your weekend?

Summer is all wrapped up, so that means Book Club is back in action. Up next for our book club is The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox. Has anyone read it? Also on my book shelf to read is the Game of Thrones series. I'm a huge mythical fantasy reader and have been holding off from watching the show so I can read the books first. In our new apartment we have a little reading nook, (rocking slider chair and all) where I've been spending the better part of my weekends. A total book worm comes to mind.

Harvest Festival

Today I wore one of the most fabulous finds in my wardrobe. I wore it downtown, back to the city to a clinic appointment.

Here is a most flirtatious, wonderful vintage dress from a store in Guelph which the name has decided to allude me for the moment.....ah just remembered.... Wild Rose. Suits the dress lovely because it's is wild. Wild Child.

I'm pretty sure this dress was hand made by someone as it has no tag on the inside and the sizing is a it off, as well as no lining and if you look carefully you can see some of her mistakes she made while sewing it. Even the belt is handmade with fabric fastened over another belt it seems.

This is one of the more expensive vintage pieces I own in my wardrobe. Only because instead of a thrift store find where I usually spend my days swooning over the racks, this is from an actual real vintage store...they knew what they were talking about.

I wanted the collar to pop and stand up a little...can you tell I used some tape to stick it down, so it was open in a v shape to show off my cowboy hattitude necklace ha!

This dress is very light, nice Spring time feel to it, despite it looking like a Harvest festival attacked the print of it.

Dress & Belt: Matching set from Wild Rose Vintage Store in Guelph
Cardigan: Hannah's closet in Erin
Bracelets: Thrifted and gift
Ring: Thrift store
Boots: second hand from Meow vintage store in Guelph
Necklace: A tiny little cowboy hat sits perched on this one of a kind necklace of mine. Try to find a similar one on my website with my hand designed jewellery collection, You've Got Hattitude. Click Here

Peace of Mind

Do You remember the tree by the river....New Iron and Wine album is out. Perfect for listening to on a 'spring is in the air' walk this afternoon. It's getting warmer. The sun was BEAMING today. I went for a walk, and had to stop at a store to purchase some sunglasses....I was wearing a red coat, so of course I accidentally bought red sun glasses, since that is what I happened to be wearing...

Spring can't be too far away.
My dress from the Preloved sample warehouse sale

In retrospect I should have probably ironed this baby

sometimes the medic alert bracelet gets in the way of a fashion statement

sneak peak

The oscars are so soon! Here is a sneak peak, a tidbit if you will of my dress, I bought for our annual oscar party.

Hoping to win best dressed for the 2nd year in a row!

Only need to see blue valentine, black swan and buitiful to see all the nominations that I would like to see.

I've seen almost all of the best pictures nominated.

Little less then two weeks! Ah.
