things to do in toronto this spring

Looking for something fun to do this spring in Toronto?

I'm hosting a mothers day workshop in Roncesvalles, Toronto on Sunday April 19th, 2015 from 1-3pm.

Come hunt through the treasure chest of jewels for the perfect brooch to turn into a pendant, pick your own chain and ribbon, while sipping on bubbly and eating some sweets.
You design your own necklace and I'll build it as a gift for your mom or something fun for yourself.

Space is limited so please email hattitudejewels {@ } gmail.com to reserve your spot.

Are you coming to the drake wedding show?

Outfit details:
Jacket: 80's vintage
Hat: Queen st. ??
Leggings: winners
Dress: Mom's 70's vintage
purse: Chez Thrift, vintage
Sweater: Banana republic
Earrings: Hattitude Jewellery

It's my first outfit post in months. I am totally diggin' this spring weather! I can finally go outside and shoot without getting frost bitten! Sometimes using a tripod by yourself is not the most ideal situation in the winter months. I love the sparkle and shine of the Swarovski crystal beads. These earring beads are recycled from an old necklace. They catch every colour you wear that day. Isn't it neat my mom's 70's dress? I love the print it seems so springy to me.

I am busy getting ready for the drake show this weekend. Are you coming? It's a wedding expo with so many wonderful talented Toronto vendors this Saturday (april 26th) from 10am-4pm. Check out the show here. Click.  Come by and check it out if you are engaged and planning your wedding!

I'm slowly running out of jewellery in my collection! I can't wait to get designing again and update the site once we move into our new pad this Sunday! Roncesvalles, Toronto here we come! I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter. Have a great Tuesday!

I love these new jeans I got at the clothing swap this weekend. Every year me and my girlfriends have a clothing swap. We bring clothes we're sick of or don't want anymore and we all swap! Sometimes you find some real gems! Isn't the flare fun? The shoes are another gift from Christmas from the spanish clothing company KLING. They're genuis in their work.

Ah Mondays! I've never been so busy as I am then this Monday. I have so many brides I'm trying to finish up as well as other people's custom work. The Hattitude studio is a bomb shell right now as I busily try to get all the jewellery orders out on time.

If you have not browsed my wedding boutique. Take a look. Click here. Please recommend me to anyone looking for custom jewellery to give their bridesmaids or for themselves. www.etsy.com/shop/hattitudejewels

how to find the perfect gift for your bridesmaids?

hattitude wedding from Hattie Du on Vimeo.

Are you a future bride to be? Recently engaged? Do you want a unique gift for your bridesmaids?
Here's how to find the perfect piece of jewelry...

1. are you a vintage loving girl?
2. what are the neck lines of your bridesmaid dresses?
3. what is your budget for the jewelry?
4. what is your colour palette for your wedding?
5. do you want to custom make your own pieces to give your girls?
6. Do you love to shop and support handmade/local?

Once you have answered all those questions you can browse my etsy shop. www.etsy.com/shop/hattitudejewels for a preview of some ideas of what your gifts to your bridesmaids can look like. You can pick and chose, mix and match pieces, colours and textures to make the perfect necklace, bracelet or earrings. I custom make items to fit your colour palette and type of bridesmaid you have. You can even get yourself a similar necklace or bracelet to go with your bridesmaids to wear on your special day!

how to wear pants

What I wore:
Sweater: F21
Hair scarf: thrifted
Vest: Vintage
Pants: F21

I am in love with these pants. It feels very strange wearing pants. I normally tend to stick to skirts and dresses...but these pants were too perfect to pass up. I love them. The floral pattern is right up my alley, and they're stretchy! (so I can wear long underwear underneath them) I think it's important if you're going to wear pants to either have them a. high waisted, or b. with a little bit of pattern on them or c. wear them with a vest.
How do you wear your pants?

I've been busy getting ready for my jewellery show this Sunday December 9th from 2-5pm.
Check out some of the pieces online and drop by Sunday for some gift wrapped presents that are one of a kind.

Follow me on Facebook as I update my shop, and post tidbits about life.
How have your lives been? I promise in the new year when Hattitude settles back down, I'll catch up on the blogosphere.

Do you guys have any plans for Christmas? I really wish I was scooting down to Barbados. Tell me your plans!

Ships Ahoy

Romper: thrifted
Hat: Thrifted
Scarf:Vintage
Ships Ahoy necklace: For sale in my shop here
This Ships Ahoy necklace is available in my shop here

Yesterday I was at ROGERS tv doing an interview for Along the Way television show. It was perfect timing, as it was my 2 year anniversary since my double lung transplant. The interview was all about my life growing up with Cystic Fibrosis, my double lung transplant at 22 and what I'm doing with my life, and my jewellery business,(Hattitude) that I design and create all the pieces myself. It was a long day, so to celebrate the anniversary we booted it up to the cottage afterwards.

Is there any better feeling then the sand between your toes? Running to the ice cream store? Eating fresh picked strawberries from the cottage?

Have a great weekend and if you get a chance pop on over to Vogue or Bust and enter my Hattitude necklace giveaway and see how the beautiful Alexandra, a Vancouver blogger styled my piece.
