a day in the life of a flower workshop

On saturday I got to attend a floral workshop in west toronto at Becky, owner of Blush and Bloom studio. It was so much fun. Thanks for opening your space up to us Becky and for allowing my mom and I to have a fun creative outlet for the day! Becky taught us that it's all about that floral wave. I can't wait for the next one!

Special thanks to Jenn Kavanaugh Photography for these beautiful photos and capturing the day! Click here to see more of Jenn's work.

what does behind the scenes look of a bohemian shoot look like?

These are some behind the scenes photos of a boho beach shoot that we did at my parents cottage 2 hours north of Toronto. What a beautiful day. The clouds were cooperating and made for a breath taking backdrop. Our models were stunning. Michelle of Magnolia studios and I styled the ladies (after much searching in clothing stores and not finding ANYTHING that fit our theme) from our OWN closets. It was super fun to style the shoot and be at the beach for a day with all this beautiful team. See below for some behind the scenes from back in June.

This shoot was one of the funnest ones I have done all summer! Who wouldn't love a day at the beach hanging out with this great gang?

Hope you are enjoying the last few warm days. I'm still dreaming of the cottage and trying to plan a heat vacation for in the new year. Have a lovely Thursday.

a san francisco outfit

Outfit Details:
Tights: Sock shop, San Francisco
Shirt: Swap
Jean Jacket: Chez Thrift, Bolton, ON
Shoes: Shoe store, San Francisco
Scarf: Gift from boyfriend
Jewellery: Hattitude jewellery

I love this outfit. I love my tights I picked up in San Francisco. I received a ton of compliments on them today. Everyone asking where I had got them, because of course Ontario just probably would not have these tights. Someone said Europe, right? Nope. Good ol' San Francisco. I was blown away with the shopping there. Haight street is a dream come true. Walking in to the vintage stores there was like walking in to a costume shop. Unbelievable.

You can pick this lovely necklace up in my shop. It's one of a kind, hand made by me, Hattitude jewellery. Click here to shop around.

a toy soldier kind of outfit

Outfit details:
Pants: Vintage
Suspenders: Thrifted
Shirt: Dear Creatures, San Francisco
Jacket: Vintage, Victoria, BC
Purse: Vintage, Grandmothers

I've been travelling like crazy this month. We calculated it, and I have spent a total of 6 nights in my apartment. Between Toronto, San Francisco, Caledon and London I have had little time to spend at home! It is so nice to be in the comfort of my own home again. I did some spring closet cleaning today. I found so many gems that I had forgotten about as they were shoved to the back of my closet. I put away all my winter woolies inside my trunk that sits at the end of my bed ready for next year to come.

I love this outfit for the fun. It reminds me of a toy solider. The blouse is so cute and I was lucky enough to get it in San Francisco at a sample sale from an independent designer, Dear Creatures. If you have not checked them out click here to go to their site. I am a girl all about the little details so I adore the bow they put on this blouse...of course I'm a HUGE cat fan so who could not swoon at the print!

This jacket is one of my favourites! I love the leather and old badges on this jacket my boyfriend and I picked up at a thrift store out in British Columbia. One of my favourite things is to collect articles of clothing from places that I have travelled. They become my souvenirs. What do you collect when you go away on holidays?

a dance party. black and pink style

Outfit Details:
Jewellery: Hattitude jewellery. Click here
Skirt: Girl Friday, Toronto
Shirt: Borrowed
Shoes: Thrifted

I love this DANCE PARTY shirt... which I just found out is not my shirt at all, but my brother's girlfriends shirt. I've found it in my laundry a few years ago and never knew where it came from! I love pink and black. Again there is something sweet about a little detail in your hair, a pink bow. The earrings are fun for summer too. They remind me of little cherries or strawberries. Lipstick is fun for spring.

What a glorious day it was today! The sun was shining, it was t-shirt weather! Can you believe it? I did my first outfit post in MONTHS outside. It was so wonderful to have such a beautiful back drop to do photos. How do you like this sweet little garden around my apartment building? Pretty. I love Spring flowers.

Don't forget if you're thinking of a gift for your mama for Mother's day 10% of Hattitude jewellery's sales go towards Cystic Fibrosis to help find a cure until the end of May 2013. Together we can make CF stand for Cure Found.

Hope your weekend is going beautifully.
