Sugar and Spice and patterned tights

Jacket: Vancouver Blogger Meet up Sale
Dress: Thrifted and altered, Bolton, Chez Thrift
Scarf: Thrfited
Rings: Gifts/ thrifted
Earrings: Hattitude
Bracelets: Hattitude/ Gifted

How this outfit came to be Hattified: I got this wicked jacket at the blogger sale at the Waldrof hotel last weekend and had yet to wear it. Are the shoulder poofs not amazing? ha
The sun was shining today and I thought it'd be a perfect day for a light blazer. I started with the blazer and wanted a bold contrast. I took the dark blazer and paired it with a light dress, with black tights and came up with this effect. It was still missing that Hattified edge so I threw on a matching headscarf. Eh voila.

Why this outfit works: This outfit works, because it has the 3 patterns. My tights have a slight pattern to them (not totally out there) my dress has a simple pattern on it, and my head scarf has a simple pattern to it. All of these colours and patterns could be mistaken from far away for just a black and white outfit.

Another version: Ditch the headscarf.

I joined Chictopia this morning...still trying to figure it all out! Any tips would be so helpful. You can find me by Clicking here, Chictopia
Yesterday was a gorgeous day in Vancouver. This weekend it's suppose to be 12 degrees and sunny. I know you can't trust the weather man out here, but it'll be nice if that comes true, nothing like Ontario weather they've been getting back home, but it's a start to Spring weather in Van city.

Walking down to the English Bay Beach, searching for driftwood, eating marble slab ice cream, with the sun set reflecting off the water, has become my favourite past time. What a life eh?

New Line coming out in May...

I started working away again out here. Latest inspiration for the summer is the First Nations jewellery. I found a raven, hand painted piece on the street yesterday from a man who hand carved it. It is so beautiful and is going to be stunning. Can't wait to show you all. Mixed in with a little dream catcher and feathers, paired with a crocheted top or vest and flowy skirt. That's how I Hattified my summer wardrobe. Ah is it summer yet?

We are up in Whistler all week, so quite the change of weather! Whistler was AMAZING. Snow tubing, Snow boarding and zip lining through the sunny, snowy mountains, I've never experienced anything like it. Stay tuned for a vide of me flying down the mountain in a harness on a cable zip line. Unreal exciting.

mountain nomad

There has been nothing like Whistler, in these whole 3 months on the west coast. Snow tubing yesterday, Boarding today, zip lining tomorrow... mountain gazing for the rest of my life.
Will post more photos when I'm back in Vancouver.

Whistler is now one of my favourite places...if not my most favourite place in Canada, with a close tie for first place, in the world. :)

Maybe I should just become a mountain nomad for the rest of my years. I don't even mind the snow when it's like that...on a mountain top surrounded by more and more and more mountains.

Have a great rest of the week

Guest Post Blogger: Ana

Hello Hattitude readers! My name is Ana from the lovely little blog AnaCloud! I am so thrilled to be writing a guest post for Hattie.  I hope you all enjoy.

Where should I even start? There seems to be so much to write but it is hard to get it all out! I guess I shall tell you where I am from.  I am a girl living under the sunny blue skies in the suburbs just North of Los Angeles in Southern California.  I have been a California girl my whole life and I don't know if I could ever leave! Living on the West Coast has made me lucky enough to have fashion in my life for a long time.  It is one of my greatest joys in life; waking up and deciding what in the world am I going to adorn myself in! And that is why I have created my blog AnaCloud.  It is a lovely way for me to share with you all of the ideas I come up with from my closet.

Here is a little bit more fun stuff about me.  I can't start the day without my coffee fix; sometimes I'm afraid I'm killing myself with the amount of coffee I drink! I have two adorable puppies (well they are about 2 years old, that's still puppy age right? ;) ) that we adopted.
I love art history and just art in general. I sometimes fantasize about living in museums. I'm also very thankful that I live so close to LA and so many extraordinary museums!
I also do a lot of my own artwork.  It is hard right now though, because I am so busy with school and blogging! But you can visit my Etsy to order your own personal piece that I will create for you!
I also love thrifting and finding diamonds in the ruff! It is so thrilling to find a piece with so much history and to be able to revive the piece! That is why I have started my own little online vintage shop called AnaCloud Vintage! I'm sure you'll find something you like! You can actually buy this fantastic little black dress that I'm wearing at my shop!
Well I guess this is goodbye.. for now! Don't be afraid to come on over to my blog and say hello! I absolutely love hearing from my readers! Hope you had as much fun reading this post as I did writing it!

Love, Ana

Tulip Wishes

Dress: H&M
Belt: H&M
Hair Bow: Winners
Sweater: Ricki's
Tights: Joe Fresh
Boots: Shoepper
Jewellery: Gift/Hattitude

How this outfit came to be Hattified: This dress was screaming Spring. Since I'm in Whistler this week, I wanted to wear Spring one last time last weekend before I went in to winter wonderland. The dress wasn't enough, (I know right...one would think it was) so I added some patterned neutral tights.

Why this outfit works: It has the rule of three, three patterns. The one necklace has flower pattern in it, as well as the dress, which is quite bright, with neutral leopard print tights. It was a bit chilly, I tried a patterned sweater over top, but with the dress being really wild, I went with a plain mustard sweater over top. I threw on the second necklace to give it the third pattern.

Another Version: Wear this dress with black tights, a black skinny belt, with a black blazer, with only one Hattitude necklace.

My friend Carly from back home in Ontario came to Vancouver for a visit. It was so much fun having her here. We really did up the city and made her walk, walk, walk. We went to Whyte cliff park, which was absolutely stunning. It was almost unreal to see. I'll post photos when I'm back from Whistler.

Tomorrow is a guest post from Ana. A cute spunky girl from California that I met through the online blogging community. Check back tomorrow and see her post.

We went to wreck beach yesterday. So far this has been my favourite place in Vancouver. I love it more then any place we have been so far. More then Grosse mountain, more then Lynn canyon, more then Victoria and China Beach. I fell in love with Wreck Beach. It is the most beautiful place ever. We went at low tide. Stunning. It's been a blast having Carly visiting us here. Thanks to Tristan for being our photographer man. I'm so glad we got a sunny day even though the forecast called for ALL rain, someone was lookin' out for us and made the sun shine shine shine. We even wore our Spring coats.
