Are you ready for the Oscars this Sunday?

Outfit Details:
Sweater: Vintage, Sentimentalist, London, ON
Jean Shirt: Joe Fresh
Skirt: Vintage, Chez Thrift, Bolton, ON
Tights: The Bay

Gosh I love this sweater. It's so feminine and springy looking, no? I love the little details of the flowers. One thing it's not the warmest sweater. There's no wool in it. I try to wear it on little warmer winter days (is that an oxymoron?). I finally found a denim shirt that fits! All I had to do was go grocery shopping (on a girls weekend up north!) to find it at Joe Fresh. Was it strange buying my fruits and veggies and clothes as well? A little. But hey, if I can shop AND get my groceries...I'm a happy lady.

Have you been keeping up on all your oscar movies? I'm so far behind! One year I saw all of them. The Oscars are my favourite time of year, mainly because it's become a tradition with my girlfriends and I to get together, dress to the nines, eat some treats and play some Oscar bingo.
Do you have a tradition with your friends you adore? Valentines day? Easter? I love hearing other people's traditions!

do fashionista's wear leather?

Outfit details:
Vest: Gift, Pre-loved, Toronto, ON
Blouse: Joe Fresh
Hair bow: Joe Fresh
Belt: Gift
Pants: Vintage
Boots: Gift, Town Shoes
Jewelry: Hattitude jewellery. Online shop

I love this pants and vest. These pants are the warmest high waisted wool pants I own in my wardrobe. For days when it's -20 degrees out, they are the perfect piece to wear. This vest was a birthday gift from a dear friend from one of my favourite stores, Pre-loved, in Toronto, on Queen st. I love the cute little lace detailing on the shoulder. Isn't it perfect? I always say, it's all in the tiny details. This vest was actually made from old recycled sweaters. Neat, eh?

Hope your weekend is shaping up to be a great one! We have our curling Wobbly Rocks bonspiel put on by the Forest City Sports and Social Club. It was a lot of fun last fall, should be another hoot.

Here's a joke my boyfriend told me this afternoon; Do fashionista's wear leather? NO but they could easily be suede! hardy -har-har-ha
Do you have any fashion jokes?

what to eat on valentines day?

Outfit Details:
Skirt: Thrifted
Shirt: Yours Now Mine in Bolton, ON
Sweater: Jacob
Belt: Thrifted
Tights: The Bay
Necklace: for sale in my online shop Hattitude Jewellery

It sure was hard finding a red outfit today in honour of cupid. For some reason most of my red clothing is summer items. I layered this outfit up and threw on my trusty red lips for good measure.

I hope you are all having a wonderful and amazing love filled day. Yes I know some of you may scorn and scowl at Valentines day, but it doesn't have to be a holiday just for couples! Grab a friend, dress up in red, light some candles and make them a nice dinner. Tell them why they are special. Who doesn't LOVE an ego boost!

Go eat some ice cream with maple syrup and chocolate chips...or the healthier version, strawberries dipped in chocolate!

Have a great Love Day!

cbc radio interview

Outfit Details:
Sweater: vintage, Vancouver
Belt: Gift
Skirt: Thrifted
Boots: Town shoes

I love the little peek-a-boo of turquoise in this outfit. The turquoise belt and the turquoise legs. It's not obnoxious, but just enough, don't you think?

It's absolutly freezing here in London, Ontario today. The wind is howling. I'm still trying to figure out how it was +15 degrees yesterday and -15 degrees today. A change of 30 degrees... global warming for you I suppose. Kind of scary. In a big way.

I was on CBC radio this morning, speaking to my surgeon who saved my life and the host of metro morning. My donor and Dr. Keshavjee made my life beautiful again. I am forever in their debt. For those of you who don't know, I had a double lung transplant 2 and a half years ago. I was in end stage Cystic Fibrosis and thankfully a match came just in time for me. I've been thriving with these new lungs ever since!
Smile. Because today you are breathing effortlessly. Some people are struggling just to inhale. Smile. Because you can.

Happy Almost Friday. I hope you have a lovely dovely weekend.

how to wear wool sweaters

Outfit Details:
Skirt: Vintage
Belt: Clothing swap
Sweater: Thrifted
Shirt/Dress: F21

I love this outfit. Especially how warm it is!  The skirt and sweater are wool and the shirt is actually a dress keeping me extra warm tucked in! I think this necklace is precious as well. It's so oldie timey and I just love the way it was designed. Click here to see my other items from my shop.

I've been hearing wedding bells all week. I'm really excited. I've been working away on an Etsy wedding shop, where I'm displaying all my beautiful jewelry for bridesmaids and bridal parties. You can check it out by clicking here.

We have been going out for London licious every night it feels like. Blowing our eating out budget for January and February. Londonlicious is a take off of winterlicious in Toronto. All the local restaurants put on a special menu that is only $30 for a 3 course meal so you can get to try every restaurant that normally you would not try. It's a really great idea.

Tonight we are off to see Lincoln. Just another film to check off the list of Oscar Nominations. Have a great Tuesday!

jammed packed weekend

Outfit Details:
Shorts: gift
Tights: The Bay
Shirt: Banana Republic
Cardigan: vintage
Brooch/bracelet: Vintage, gift
Cat: Beau Beau

I love this outfit. I love the shorts with the old fashioned suspenders. My older brother gave me these shorts 4 years ago and he picked them out ALL by himself. They are still one of my favourites in my closet. I think this outfit is great because it's all in the little details, like pinning an old brooch on to your pocket. Isn't it a sweet little detail?

How was your weekend? Mine was jammed packed. We saw a play at the Grande theater. Kim's convenience.  For any of you Torontonians have you seen this play? It started at the Fringe festival and has been making its way across the country.

We also saw Silver linings play book...wow. That has my vote to win best film at the Oscar Nominations. It was fantastic. I also went to a greeting card making party on Sunday. I went away with 10 cards that I had hand made. They are so cute. I'll post some on the blog tomorrow.

Did you get up to anything fun this weekend?

a little banana republic in my life

Outfit Details:
Shirt: Banana Republic
Skirt: Banana Republic
Sweater: Gift, Banana Republic
Belt: thrifted
Jewellery: Hattitude Jewellery

Ever since I started dating Tristan Banana Republic has slowly started becoming one of my favourite stores. It has been his favourite store forever and it's slowly weaving it's web on me. Can you tell it was a BR kind of Christmas?
I love the quality of clothes you get from BR compared to H&M or Forever 21. (Don't get me wrong I do love a good shopping spree to those stores!)

This is probably one of my favourite outfits. It is Hattified to the max. The colour mustard. Check. Pattern on Pattern. Check. Hattitude necklace. Check. It has all of my favourite things in one outfit. Swoon worthy.
What is your go to check list for an outfit to be perfect and complete?
Do you have any weekend plans? I'm going to see Silver Lining play book tonight! FINALLY.
Happy Friday!
