I wore this dress to the SHARE dinner and dance function. It's a handmade dress that I picked up at a thrift store. I've been taking a sewing class so of course I've been looking over all the hems, and stitches and seeing how it was all constructed together. The coat is from another vintage store. The scarf is a nice autumn leaf print scarf from my mom's closet.

The charity event we went to on Saturday was for the SHARE foundation which helps farmers in third world countries in sending them farming aid. My grandfather was one of the founders. It's a really great organization, doing a lot of good for a lot of people in different parts of South America. I was proud we all went and had a 'cousins' table.

Tomorrow and Tuesday are my studio shop hours. Come on by the studio in Caledon from 5-8pm if you want to get Hattified to beat the November blahs.

Kinsmen Club

I wore this to a Kinsmen Club dinner. Kinsmen is a community club, which is very involved with fundraising and events in Canada. They're a wonderful group of dedicated people who support cystic fibrosis research as one of their main charities.
Dress: Chez Thrift, bolton
Shoes: Winners
Head scarf: Garage sale
Jewellery: Hattitude jewels

One of my best friends received a community award from the Kinsmen Club last night in honour of all her hard work she does to raise money for cystic fibrosis research. She is the director of the CF for CF fashion show which has raised over $60,000 in support of CF research. She is one power house woman!
What a great evening to be part of. The highlight of the evening was seeing my best friend get such a wonderful award, for helping a cause that is so near and dear to my heart! She is a wonderful lady.

april showers, bring may flowers

Tights: American Apparel
Skirt: Thrifted
Belt: H & M
Shirt: Thrifted, Chez thrift, bolton
Jacket: Mom's
Bracelets: Hattitude, Tofino
Headscarf: Thrifted

How this outfit came to be Hattified: Truth is I was rushing out to meet up with some friends at a restaurant for a welcome home night for another friend in from Alberta...I needed a quick outfit. I started with the shirt and the hair scarf (didn't have time to spruce up my hair). I thought the skirt matched, and threw in some mustard tights to amp it up, since I love mustard and royal blue together.

Why this outfit works: The mustard tights and the mustard belt match. The blue in the top and the royal blue skirt match. The brown shoes bring it down and casualify it. (yes I just made that word up

Another version: Wear it with an off white/cream coloured top.

Today is a day of jewellery organizing. I feel like my mind has been cufuddled (...i think i just made up another word, 2 for 2) with all the messiness in my studio. I'm switching desks, so that will be a nice chance to organize all my jewellery and get the creative juices flowing again. Any tips on staying inspired when you work from home?
