Spring is here! Time to get Hattified with Hattitude! I was going to write Hattitooted...but that does not sound glamourous, or sexy or something that you would want to wear or win for Spring ha!

The thrill of the hunt...vintage hunting that is

OY! no Glee last night. Re-run. Now I do love Gwenth Paltrow so I guess I shall let it slide, since she is so ridiuclously fabulous, and it would be a crime NOT to re-run that episode.
I'm now on to Brothers and Sisters season 4...not sure I am not as smitten with this season as I was the other three.
Perhaps the best part about yesterday though was the most fantastic thrift store expierence. It had been awhile since I went through a thrift store, smelling the stale smell, and beginning the rummaging. The thrill of the hunt coercing through your veins as you scour over the racks and racks of unwanted articles until you come to the most perfect little piece of awesomeness that just has to be yours. All this, just like riding a bike. Thrift Store hunting 101. It felt good to be back at it.

What's your favourite thing about thrift store hunting?
As I get home yesterday evening, I learn that we are suppose to get SNOW. I woke up this morning to a friggin' WINTER wonderland. It was a snow day at the schools. Yes that's right I actually typed those words.
Question. Does the weather god not know that I just went and bought SO many cute new spring and floral print dresses skirts and shirts that need to be worn? blargh. Guess not....

Florals, oh how I missed you!

Yesterday I had a clinic appointment. Today, is all fun, finishing my book club book, The Red Tent by Anita Diamant. Breaking out the sewing machine, and fixing up some vintage finds.

For those of you wondering, I'm followed at a hospital in Toronto. I was born with Cystic Fibrosis, which is a lung condition that has affected me my whole life (but not my love of fashion or accessories! ha). Last summer I received the gift of life. I was given a second chance. I had a double lung transplant on July 5th, 2010.

Spring is here...although it's a bit chilly again, but never the less I will not give up the hope of seeing spring buds, so here is a Spring little dress. Florals, oh how I missed you!

The shoes...oh glorious shoes. SO comfy. I'm a huge fan of comfort shoes
I like belts that look like jewellery

I like head gear. They are cute, versatile, and ready to grab.

Harvest Festival

Today I wore one of the most fabulous finds in my wardrobe. I wore it downtown, back to the city to a clinic appointment.

Here is a most flirtatious, wonderful vintage dress from a store in Guelph which the name has decided to allude me for the moment.....ah just remembered.... Wild Rose. Suits the dress lovely because it's is wild. Wild Child.

I'm pretty sure this dress was hand made by someone as it has no tag on the inside and the sizing is a it off, as well as no lining and if you look carefully you can see some of her mistakes she made while sewing it. Even the belt is handmade with fabric fastened over another belt it seems.

This is one of the more expensive vintage pieces I own in my wardrobe. Only because instead of a thrift store find where I usually spend my days swooning over the racks, this is from an actual real vintage store...they knew what they were talking about.

I wanted the collar to pop and stand up a little...can you tell I used some tape to stick it down, so it was open in a v shape to show off my cowboy hattitude necklace ha!

This dress is very light, nice Spring time feel to it, despite it looking like a Harvest festival attacked the print of it.

Dress & Belt: Matching set from Wild Rose Vintage Store in Guelph
Cardigan: Hannah's closet in Erin
Bracelets: Thrifted and gift
Ring: Thrift store
Boots: second hand from Meow vintage store in Guelph
Necklace: A tiny little cowboy hat sits perched on this one of a kind necklace of mine. Try to find a similar one on my website with my hand designed jewellery collection, You've Got Hattitude. Click Here

First Wedding of 2011 photos are in!

Brides, Babes, Weddings, White....Magical.

My first wedding of 2011 photos are in.
For those of you who don't know. I create and design one -of-a-kind jewellery. Click here

I designed this young woman's necklace, earrings, and bracelet for her special day.

She got married in Mexico, so she asked for something unique, boho, turquoise, green and beachy.

This is actually my first bride that I have outfitted with accessories. I've done a number of bridesmaid parties.

Always designing a bridesmaid, never a bride (ha)

I have another wedding this summer and am outfitting the bridesmaids. I've begun searching for the perfect vintage brooches to incorporate into the pieces for the 'maids to wear.

I LOVE designing for weddings, proms and special events because it means I get to see the outfit first, have a vision and make it happen!

You can Check out more of my jewellery for every day wear by clicking here
Beautiful Danneille!

the necklace had seahorse, seashell and a vintage heart for her LOVE day

Here's a snap shot of the bracelet. Gosh what a babe of a bride. So beautiful.

All Smiles

The bracelet had vintage earrings, new stones, and a sea horse hanging from it
If you'd like some custom work done for a Wedding, Prom, or Special Event email me at Hattitude@live.com

If you want something, old, something new, and something blue in the piece of jewellery, works great!
You can even 'borrow' your grandmothers old brooch and have the necklace designed around the brooch, pin or earring.

Make your day that much more special by wearing a family heirloom in a gorgeous modern necklace, specifically designed for your dress.

Give a gift to your bridesmaids and let them enjoy a beautiful one-of-a-kind necklace on your day. It'll look great in photos and they'll be able to wear the pieces of jewellery forever after your LOVE day.

Makes a great gift to give them for when they walk down the aisle at your wedding.

Sppppppprinnngsummer.

First Day of Spring! Suck it winter.

In honour of Spring, even though the ground is grey, the sky is grey...the world is dead (just starting to come alive again now). I thought I would wear turquoise to get me in the mood to see the flowers sprouting out of the ground. Also first time I wore these white pants since september probably. Nice they a. still fit, and b. makes me feel light and airy and SPRINGY

Today's mission after I get home from errands (I am on a mission to find the perfect piece of vintage jewellery to incorporate in to a birthday Hattitude jewellery piece gift), while I'm still at my parents home: check out the Garden after the long winter and see if any buds are up!

Turquoise. Barbados Ocean. My Fav.
This is probably one of the only times you will see me in heels...if you can even call these low heels.

Can you tell I have a real thing for bows?

You've Got Hattitude Jewellery

When one has a collar, one must always pop that collar.

Wearing My lungs ring again. The Watch is a one of a kind. It stopped working and no watch maker seems to be able to put a new battery in it, but I still rock it. Accessorize right?

Dress/Vest: Vintage, from Meow in Guelph
Bracelet: Pearl, gift - Turquoise, Barbados - Watch, One-of-a-kind craft show (is anyone going next week to the Spring one?)
Ring: Pawn Shop near St. Michaels Hospital

Saturday Night....I like the Way you Move

It's saturday, so I put this oldy but a goody tune on the ol' speakers while I edited these photos, "Saturday Night" by Whigfield. I'm at my parents house for the weekend. So "Downtown" by Petula Clark didn't seem appropriate.

I am missing the city. My car stalled last night when I went grocery shopping...not cool. In the city no need for a car...thank you public transportation. I dislike driving with a passion almost equivalent to my love for accessories. If you know me at all...That's saying something!

Saturday night, I feel the air
Is getting hot

heading out...yellow scarf in tow

I wore out a grey blazer jacket so don't worry,
the scarf totally appropriate

 Like you baby
I'll make you mine you know

I'll take you to the top
I'll drive you crazy
Glasses give the illusion that sometimes you might know what you are talking about

Bracelets and rings are key to any outfit
 Saturday night, dance, I like
The way you move

buttons down the side...my fav
 Pretty baby
It's party time and not one

 Minute we can lose
Be my baby

bows are neat, wacky, creative and above all
Flats...comfy = ideal

soon there will be blooms!

It's spring...should probably start the ol' sewing machine up again
