I wore this dress to the SHARE dinner and dance function. It's a handmade dress that I picked up at a thrift store. I've been taking a sewing class so of course I've been looking over all the hems, and stitches and seeing how it was all constructed together. The coat is from another vintage store. The scarf is a nice autumn leaf print scarf from my mom's closet.
The charity event we went to on Saturday was for the SHARE foundation which helps farmers in third world countries in sending them farming aid. My grandfather was one of the founders. It's a really great organization, doing a lot of good for a lot of people in different parts of South America. I was proud we all went and had a 'cousins' table.
Tomorrow and Tuesday are my studio shop hours. Come on by the studio in Caledon from 5-8pm if you want to get Hattified to beat the November blahs.

ReplyDeleteIt was music to my ears to hear that you are taking sewing lessons! Isn't it funny how once you know how to sew how you start inspecting clothing for its construction?
ReplyDeleteThat dress is absolutely beautiful and looks amazing on you! Don't you just love finding homemade vintage pieces - they always seem to last for a long time.
